S.B. 1336  RELATING TO PREPAID HEALTH CARE INCOME TAX       LRE/CPN, WAM
        CREDIT
        Provides an income tax incentive for employers to offer prepaid
        health care benefits to employees that are otherwise not
        entitled to mandatory coverage.

S.B. 1076  RELATING TO INSURANCE PREMIUM TAXES                  GOH, WAM
        Allows insurance companies to utilize the low-income housing tax
        credit to offset insurance premium taxes.

S.B. 1323  RELATING TO THE HIGH TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS         ECD/EDU, WAM
S.D. 1   INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT
        Provides a new tax credit to encourage the investment in high
        technology companies.

        Exempts certain activities of call centers from taxation.

S.B. 788 RELATING TO TAXATION                                 HHS, WAM
S.D. 1   Provides that the excise tax on cigarettes shall be imposed and
        collected through the use of stamps purchased by wholesalers and
        dealers, and affixed to cigarette packages.

S.B. 1547  RELATING TO TAXES                                    HHS, WAM
S.D. 1   Provides for an increase of liquor and cigarette taxes to be
        dedicated to the purchase of medical equipment for Hawaii Health
        System Corporation's health facilities and supporting early
        childhood development programs.

S.B. 47  RELATING TO TAXATION                                 HHS, WAM
        Addresses the taxation of certain medical services by providing
        relief.

S.B. 1222  RELATING TO THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY               ECD, WAM
S.D. 1   Exempt amounts received from the construction of an
        entertainment industry production facility from the general
        excise tax.

S.B. 1178  RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAXATION OF RELATED
S.D. 1   ENTITIES                                             CPN, WAM
        Clarifies the definition of "related entities" for purposes of
        the general excise tax.

S.B. 364 RELATING TO TAXATION                                 CPN, WAM
S.D. 1   Includes within the general excise tax exemption for insurance
        companies' gross proceeds, proceeds received by corporate
        attorney-in-fact in connection with administrative functions
        performed on behalf of reciprocal insurers.

S.B. 1176  RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX LICENSING OF SINGLE-MEMBER
        LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANIES                          CPN, WAM
        Provides an exception from the general excise tax licensing,
        reporting, and tax liability company when the member is licensed
        and pays the appropriate general excise tax on the gross income
        derived.

S.B. 425 RELATING TO FEES                                          WAM

 


 
S.D. 1   Amends various fees charged by state agencies for governmental
        services.

S.B. 17  RELATING TO TAXATION                                 TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Authorizes the reimbursement of general excise tax (GET) amounts
        to counties for GET passed on to the counties.

S.B. 1298  RELATING TO GOVERNMENT                               TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Requires the transmittal of all of the fines and forfeitures
        from uncontested traffic infractions to the counties to be used
        for public safety purposes.

S.B. 1556  RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX                   TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Exempts from the general excise tax amounts received from
        federal contractors by contractors or subcontractors provided
        100% of the stockholders, owners, managers, and employees are
        residents.  Requires a state contracting license for federal
        construction projects in Hawaii to the extent allowed under
        federal law.

S.B. 659 RELATING TO INCOME TAXATION                          TIA, WAM
        Repeals the authority of the Department of Taxation to exempt
        nonresident employees from withholding.

S.B. 686 RELATING TO VEHICLE HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION FEE       TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Increases from $1 to $3, the highway beautification fee
        collected from each motor vehicle registration; exempts U-drive
        motor vehicles from the fee increase.

S.B. 194 RELATING TO INCOME TAXATION                          CPN, WAM
S.D. 1   Establishes a State income tax credit equal to 50 per cent of
        premium costs paid during the taxable year for a qualified long-
        term care insurance contract as defined in section 7702B of the
        Internal Revenue Code.

S.B. 944 RELATING TO INVESTMENT ATTRACTION                    ECD, WAM
S.D. 1   Provides a commercial construction income tax credit.
