S.B. 1281  RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM  CPN, WAM
S.D. 1   Enables ERS to hire an assistant administrator and a
        chief investment officer.  Deletes ERS's ability to
        hire outside counsel.

S.B. 215 RELATING TO ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSESCPN,
        WAM
        Includes advance practice registered nurses as
        providers under workers' compensation, no-fault, and
        pre-paid healthcare plans.

S.B. 1137  RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUND  CPN, WAM
        Extends health insurance coverage to unmarried
        dependent children of state and county employee-
        beneficiaries who are full-time students up to age 24.

S.B. 1127  RELATING TO INSURANCE                      CPN, WAM
S.D. 1   Establishes the health insurance revolving fund.
        Authorizes assessments against mutual benefit
        societies and HMOs to be credited to health insurance
        revolving fund and motor vehicle insurance revolving
        fund.  Appropriates moneys out of the health insurance
        revolving fund.

S.B. 366 RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUND  CPN, WAM
        Enables the Employer-Union Trust Concept Committee to
        continue its work to proceed with conversion to an
        employer-union trust concept for administering public
        employee and retiree health benefits.

S.B. 1314  RELATING TO RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR TRUSTEES CPN/WLH,
        WAM
S.D. 1   OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS
        Provides retirement benefits for the Trustees of the
        Office of Hawaiian Affairs

S.B. 459 RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY   ECD, WAM
        Requires that one of the members at large of the
        Hawaii Tourism Authority be a representative of the
        Office of Hawaiian Affairs.

S.B. 816 RELATING TO THE CONVENTION CENTER          ECD, WAM
        Extends the Hawaii Convention Center Authority until
        June 30, 2000.

S.B. 809 RELATING TO BOATING                        ECD, WAM
S.D. 1   Allows a sole proprietor who own catamarans and who
        has obtained and/or maintained a commercial
        registration to land such catamarans on Waikiki beach
        and to operate on Waikiki shoreline, to transfer the
        commercial registration to a corporation.

S.B. 1465  RELATING TO THE STATE POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONEDU, WAM
S.D. 1   COMMISSION
        Establishes a college tuition savings program to be
        administered by the state post-secondary education
        commission for resident and nonresident students at
        any accredited post-secondary educational institution.

S.B. 743 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN EARLY CHILDHOODEDU/HHS,
        WAM
S.D. 1   EDUCATION CENTER
        Appropriates funds to develop an early childhood
        education center in the Kalihi area.

S.B. 1438  RELATING TO GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT  GOH/LRE/TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Defines "state resident", "state contractor", and
        "state subcontractor" for purposes of the state

 
        contractor preference for state contracts; increases
        state contractor preference to 15% within the state
        procurement code.

S.B. 1030  RELATING TO THE HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATIONHHS,
        WAM
S.D. 1   Authorizes Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to issue
        revenue bonds.

S.B. 825 RELATING TO BREASTFEEDING                  HHS, WAM
S.D. 1   Promotes the practice of breastfeeding in public
        accommodations and places of work.

S.B. 602 RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY                  JDC, WAM
S.D. 1   Transfers the rights, powers, functions, and duties of
        personnel assigned to the parole administration
        division of the Hawaii paroling authority to the
        department of public safety.

S.B. 1108  RELATING TO STATE JUDGMENT LIENS           JDC, WAM
S.D. 1   Allows the state to file liens on debtor's land
        registered in the Bureau of Conveyances which will
        also attach to land registered in Land Court.

S.B. 1163  RELATING TO THE RELEASE OF PRE-TRIAL INMATES  JDC, WAM
        Extends the authority to grant emergency release of
        pre-trial inmates until June 30, 2000.

S.B. 598 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE JDC, WAM
S.D. 1   SERVICES
        Appropriates funds within family court to establish a
        pilot dedicated domestic violence court and to provide
        related domestic violence services.

S.B. 1284  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COLLECTIVE BARGAININGLRE,
        WAM
S.D. 1   COST ITEMS
        Funds retroactive and continuing cost items for units
        1 to 11 and 18.

S.B. 1470  RELATING TO STATE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES EXCLUDEDLRE,
        WAM
        FROM COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS
        AND OTHER ADJUSTMENTS

 
 
        Appropriates funds to track legislative staff salaries
        to bargaining units 3, 4, and 13 collective bargaining
        cost adjustments.

S.B. 453 RELATING TO HOMESTEAD LEASES               WLH, WAM
        Changes homestead lease amounts to $1. Eliminates cash
        freehold agreements.

S.B. 1303  RELATING TO THE REVIEW OF THE SALARIES OF THE WLH, WAM
S.D. 1   TRUSTEES OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS
        Re-establishes the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Trustee
        Salary Commission.

S.B. 580 RELATING TO PROJECT FAITH                  WLH, WAM
        Makes appropriation for Project faith, Anahola, Kauai.

S.B. 1256  RELATING TO AN INTERISLAND FERRY SYSTEM    TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Appropriates funds for an interisland ferry system
        between Maui and Molokai.

S.B. 1431  RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN AGRICULTURALECD,
        WAM
S.D. 1   WATER SYSTEM FOR UPCOUNTRY MAUI.
        Establishes a separate agricultural water supply and
        delivery system under the board of agriculture for the
        farms in upcountry Maui.

S.B. 1481  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HAWAII ISLAND TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   VETERANS MEMORIAL INC
        Appropriates unspecified sum as grant-in-aid to Hawaii
        Island Veterans Memorial Inc. to build a combined
        veterans center in Hawaii county.

S.B. 154 RELATING TO DISABILITIES                   HHS, WAM
        Appropriations for developmentally disabled (DD),
        mentally retarded (MR); sets up special fund for
        developmentally disabled; allows services for DD/MR
        living independently outside of licensed facilities;
        required audit of case management services provided by
        DOH for DD/MR.

S.B. 1504  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL HHS, WAM
        SERVICES

 
 
        Appropriates funds for emergency medical services to
        the Makakilo-Kapolei area, the Greater Honolulu area,
        the Kahaluu-Kaawa area, and the Nanakuli area.
