S.B. 1301  RELATING TO VEHICLE TAXES                    TIA/WAM
        Transfers funds to the counties to compensate for the
        loss of revenues from the transient accommodations tax
        and provides revenues to the highway fund to maintain
        and operate highway systems.

S.B. 1302  RELATING TO THE RENTAL MOTOR VEHICLE AND TOUR VEHICLETI
        A/WAM
        SURCHARGE TAX
        Raises the monthly rental motor vehicle surcharge tax
        rate from $2 to $3.  Transfers the entire tax
        collections under the rental motor vehicle and tour
        vehicle surcharge law from the highway special fund to
        the general fund.

S.D. 1   Authorizes the reimbursement of general excise tax
        (GET) amounts to counties for GET passed on to the
        counties.

S.B. 1298  RELATING TO GOVERNMENT                      TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Requires the transmittal of all of the fines and
        forfeitures from uncontested traffic infractions to the
        counties to be used for public safety purposes.

S.B. 1556  RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX          TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Exempts from the general excise tax amounts received
        from federal contractors by contractors or
        subcontractors provided 100% of the stockholders,
        owners, managers, and employees are residents.
        Requires a state contracting license for federal
        construction projects in Hawaii to the extent allowed
        under federal law.

S.B. 659 RELATING TO INCOME TAXATION                 TIA, WAM
        Repeals the authority of the Department of Taxation to
        exempt nonresident employees from withholding.

S.B. 686 RELATING TO VEHICLE HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION FEE TIA, WAM
S.D. 1   Increases from $1 to $3, the highway beautification fee
        collected from each motor vehicle registration; exempts
        U-drive motor vehicles from the fee increase.

S.B. 194 RELATING TO INCOME TAXATION                 CPN, WAM
S.D. 1   Establishes a State income tax credit equal to 50 per
        cent of premium costs paid during the taxable year for
        a qualified long-term care insurance contract as
        defined in section 7702B of the Internal Revenue Code.

S.B. 944 RELATING TO INVESTMENT ATTRACTION           ECD, WAM
S.D. 1   Provides a commercial construction income tax credit.

least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate
to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the
hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
