S.B. 659 RELATING TO INCOME TAXATION                 TIA,WAM
        Repeals the authority of the department of taxation to
        exempt nonresident employees from withholding.

S.B. 1522  RELATING TO FISHING                         TIA,ECD
        Enhances net fishing regulations at Nawiliwili harbor,
        Port Allen harbor, Hanalei bay, Wai'eli bay, Hanamaulu
        bay, and Kahului and Honolulu harbors.  (CHUN)

S.B. 1450  RELATING TO FISHING                         TIA,ECD
        Adds Nawiliwili harbor, Port Allen harbor, and Kahului
        harbor as prohibited net fishing sites.  (TANAKA)

S.B. 661 RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR             TIA,JDC
        Suspends driver's license of minors under 18 for 6
        months, requires community service and attendance at
        alcohol education program for violating intoxicating
        liquor law involving minors.  (KAWAMOTO, et al)

S.B. 703 RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR             TIA,CPN
        Amends exceptions regarding the transfer of liquor
        licenses.  (BUNDA)

S.B. 1002  RELATING TO LIQUOR LICENSES                 TIA,JDC

 
        Prohibits the holders of a manufacturer's or wholesale
        dealers' licenses to hold any interest in a retail
        license; deems lawful for the same holders to hold an
        interest in licenses other than retail licenses.

S.B. 807 RELATING TO DRUG PARAPHERNALIA              TIA,JDC
        Prohibits the sale of a combination of glass "straw"
        and portions of metal brillo pad, which form the
        components of a crack cocaine pipe.  (FUKUNAGA)

S.B. 1388  RELATING TO PAWNBROKERS                     TIA,CPN
        Requires all pawn transactions to be on a computerized

S.B. 700 RELATING TO LOW-SPEED VEHICLES              TIA,CPN
        Regulates neighborhood electric vehicles, which are
        designed to operate at speeds of 25 miles per hour or
        less.  (BUNDA)

S.B. 709 RELATING TO TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT             TIA,JDC
        Amends the photo red light imaging and photo speed
        imaging detector demonstration project by including
        other photo technology systems to improve traffic
        enforcement and reduce traffic congestion by producing
        photographic identification of a vehicle which crosses
        longitudinal traffic lane markings.  (MATSUNAGA)

S.B. 1383  RELATING TO PENALTIES AND PROCEDURES ON ARREST TIA,JDC

 
 
 
 
        Authorizes police to arrest persons stopped for
        traffic violations who refuse to provide proof of
        their identification or who are supposed of providing
        false or misleading information.  (MIZUGUCHI) (BR)

S.B. 1397  RELATING TO THE STATEWIDE TRAFFIC CODE      TIA,JDC
        Assigns a maximum fine of $1,000, or imprisonment of
        not more than 30 days, or both, for driving a moped
        without a driver's license.  (MIZUGUCHI) (BR)

S.B. 1403  RELATING TO THE TRAFFIC CODE                    TIA
        Allows transportation departments of state and
        counties to use highway markings or curb markings to
        indicate parking prohibitions.  (MIZUGUCHI) (BR)

S.B. 1426  RELATING TO PERIODIC MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION TIA,JDC 
        Abolishes periodic motor vehicle inspections (safety
        checks) for ambulances; trucks, truck-tractors,
        semitrailers, and pole trailers; buses; rental or U-
        drive motor vehicles; taxicabs; antique motor
        vehicles; and other vehicles having a GVWR of 10,000
        pounds or less, including mopeds.  (BUNDA)

S.B. 1430  RELATING TO JUVENILE SAFETY                     TIA
        Requires minors under the age of 12 to wear a helmet
        while operating a wheeled apparatus on public
        property.  (BUEN)

S.B. 1534  RELATING TO LICENSE PLATES                      TIA
        Allows issuance of special license plates for those
        civilians providing service to the United States, on
        Oahu, or offshore at a distance of not more than three
        miles at the time of the December 7, 1941 attack on
        Pearl Harbor.  (SLOM, et al)

S.B. 27  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION          TIA
        Removes the requirement that an owner of a vehicle in
        storage present a certificate of inspection that is
        issued after the recording of storage, if the
        certificate of inspection expired during the period of
        storage.  (LEVIN)

S.B. 946 RELATING TO CORRECTIONS                     TIA,JDC
        Repeals requirement that counties provide residential
        detention for prearraignment detainees.  (INOUYE)
