        Establishes provision for elections by mail.

S.B. 1164  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER LICENSING   TIA,JDC
        Establishes driver's license reciprocity agreement

S.B. 1169  RELATING TO DRIVER'S LICENSING              TIA,JDC
        Establishes a driving curfew for minors. (MIZUGUCHI)

S.B. 1216  RELATING TO BICYCLING                           TIA
        Allows bicyclists to travel on the edge of roadways,
        except under certain conditions.  (KAWAMOTO, et al)

S.B. 1168  RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSING         TIA
        Removes knowledge and skills tests specified for any
        person who is at least twenty-one years of age and who
        possesses a valid commercial driver's license.

S.B. 1194  RELATING TO SCHOOL BUSES                        TIA

 
 
        Allows school buses to use HOV and zipper lane.

S.B. 973 RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE TOWING            TIA,CPN
        Requires towing businesses to have insurance coverage
        for towed motor vehicles during towing and storage.

S.B. 959 RELATING TO SPECIAL FACILITY REVENUE BONDS
        FOR AIRPORTS                                TIA,WAM
        Redefines "special facility" for special facility
        revenue bonds and leases for airports to include cargo

S.B. 1214  RELATING TO THE HAWAII MARITIME AUTHORITY   TIA,WAM
        Extends life of Hawaii Maritime Authority and the
        deadline for its legislative report.  (KAWAMOTO, et
        al)

S.B. 1166  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR HONOLULU HARBOR, OAHUTIA,W
        AM
        Makes an appropriation out of the revenues of the
        harbor special fund of the State of Hawaii for
        planning, design, and construction of a cruise ship
        passenger terminal at Pier 2, Honolulu Harbor.

S.B. 922 RELATING TO UNAUTHORIZED CONTROL OF PROPELLED 
        VEHICLE                                     TIA,JDC
        Includes within offense of unauthorized control of a
        propelled vehicle the knowing or reckless exerting of
        unauthorized control over another's vehicle.

S.B. 1212  RELATING TO USE OF INTOXICANTS              TIA,JDC
        Amends driving impaired statutes to consolidate and
        conform offenses relating to operating a vehicle while
        using an intoxicant.  (KAWAMOTO, et al)

S.B. 1002  RELATING TO LIQUOR LICENSES                 TIA,JDC
        Prohibits the holders of a manufacturer's or wholesale
        dealers' licenses to hold any interest in a retail
        license.  (FUKUNAGA)

S.B. 972 RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR             TIA,JDC
        Suspends driver's license for 6 months, requires 100
        hours of community service and attendance at alcohol
        and drug education program if an underage person
        violates liquor laws.  For repeat offenders, suspend's

 
 
 
 
        driver's license for one year and 150 hours of

S.B. 1186  RELATING TO PROPERTY DAMAGE                 TIA,JDC
        Persons under age 21 convicted of the act of graffiti
        and who do not have a driver's license shall not be
        allowed to obtain one for at least one year or until
        age 21, whichever is greater.  (IWASE)

S.B. 980 RELATING TO RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF SOCIAL      
        SECURITY NUMBERS                            TIA,JDC
        Prohibits the use of social security numbers for
        recordkeeping, identification, or informational
        purposes.  Prohibits use of social security numbers as
        driver's license or certificate of identification
        numbers.  (D. IGE)

S.B. 1193  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC SERVICE
        ANNOUNCEMENTS                               TIA,WAM
        Appropriates funds for television and radio public
        service announcements to educate the public about
        traffic-related concerns and the state traffic laws.

hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
