S.B. 1404  RELATING TO WASTEWATER REUSE                       LRE
        Defines "recycled water" and "reclaimed water" as
        water, which, as a result of treatment of waste, is
        suitable for a direct beneficial use or a controlled
        use that would not otherwise occur and is therefore
        considered a valuable resource.

S.B. 1537  RELATING TO MOTORIZED VEHICLES IN FOREST           LRE
        RESERVES AND CONSERVATION DISTRICTS
        Prohibits the use of motorized vehicles on
        conservation lands and forest reserves.

S.B. 1436  RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT                      LRE
        Provides that severely handicapped persons, certified
        for positions in public service, can transfer from one
        position to another provided the new position requires
        functions that the person is capable of performing.

S.B. 1341  RELATING TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING                  LRE
        Requires labor relations board to decide all disputes
        within 90 days after close of the hearing and the
        decisions in writing within 30 days of the decision.

S.B. 206   RELATING TO WAGES AND COMPENSATION                 LRE
        Makes the civil penalty for late wages equal to the
        wages plus interest.

S.B. 1149  RELATING TO ENFORCEMENT OF WAGE LAWS               LRE

 
        Clarifies that attorney's fees and other costs of the
        opposing party shall not be assessed against the
        Director of Labor and Industrial Relations in cases
        involving the enforcement of the Wage and Hour,
        Payment of Wages and other compensation laws,
        including the collection of unpaid wages.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies (single sided,
stapled, without holes) of their testimony to the vice-chair's
office, Room 217, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. 

Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to
the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659
(toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the
hearing.  When faxing, please indicate the date and time of the
hearing, the required number of copies needed for submittal, and
that the testimony be delivered to the LRE vice-chair's office,
Room 217.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
