The LRE Committee previously held a public hearing on a Senate
bill that is substantially similar to H.B. 1038 H.D. 1 .  Please
focus your testimony on the differences, if any, between the
House and Senate measures identified below.

H.B. 1038  MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR COLLECTIVE          LRE, WAM
H.D. 1     BARGAINING COST ITEMS
        Appropriates funds for collective bargaining cost
        items.
        (See S.B. 1284 S.D.2, heard on 02/02/99)
        (This bill was removed from the 03/16/99 agenda for
        rescheduling). 

S.C.R. 102 REQUESTING THE APPOINTMENT OF A STUDY GROUP   LRE, WAM
        TO RECOMMEND ENVIRONMENTAL TAXES AND 
        REDUCTION OF OTHER TAXES

S.C.R. 97  URGING A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF THE           LRE, WAM
S.R 40     IMPACTS OF RAISING THE STATE MINIMUM WAGE

H.B. 142   RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT                  LRE,WAM
H.D. 1     Establishes a representative task force to conduct a
        comprehensive review of Chapter 76 and 77, Hawaii
        Revised Statues.

 
FOR THE LRE ONLY HEARING, persons wishing to testify should
submit 30 copies (single sided, stapled, without holes) of their
testimony to the LRE vice-chair's office, Room 217, State
Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing.

Senate bill that is substantially similar to H.B. 798 H.D. 2.
Please focus your testimony on the differences, if any, between
the House and Senate measures identified below. 

H.B. 798   RELATING TO NOISE                         LRE/HHS, WAM
H.D. 2     Clarifies jurisdiction regarding noise control.
        (See S.B. 798 S.D. 2, heard on 02/04/99)

FOR THE LRE/HHS HEARING, persons wishing to testify should submit
35 copies (single sided, stapled, without holes) of their
testimony to the LRE vice-chair's office, Room 217, State
Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. 

        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to
the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659
(toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the
hearing.  When faxing, please indicate the date and time of the
hearing, the required number of copies needed for submittal, and
that the testimony be delivered to the LRE vice-chair's office,
Room 217.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
