        Promotes the practice of breastfeeding in public
        accommodations and places of work. (SD2)

SB 1153    RELATING TO THE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING FUND  PROGRAM
                                                       LAB,FIN
        Clarifies that the disbursements of the employment and
        training fund (ETF) are exempt from the provisions of
        the State Procurement Code.

SB 206     RELATING TO WAGES AND COMPENSATIONS            LAB,FIN
        Makes the civil penalty for late wages equal to the
        wages plus interest.

SB 1149SD1 RELATING TO THE ENFORCEMENT OF WAGE LAWS       LAB,JHA
        Clarifies that attorney's fees and other costs of the
        opposing party shall not be assessed against DLIR in
        cases involving the collection of unpaid wages. (SD1)






 
SB 1152    RELATING TO THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
        TRAINING AND ASSISTANCE FUND                   LAB,FIN
        Clarifies the fund which has been instrumental in the
        area of workplace accident prevension.  Clarifies that
        the fund may be used to certify safety and health
        professionals.

SB 1150SD2 RELATING TO SAFETY                             LAB,FIN
        Raises the fine for safety violations to $10,000
        relative to elevator, boiler, and amusement ride
        operations.  (SD2)

SB 635SD1  RELATING TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE TESTING            LAB,JHA
        Provides for the use of substance abuse on-site
        screening tests (i.e., portable substance abuse tests)
        for pre-employment purposes only that meet the
        requirements of the United States Food and Drug
        Administration for commercial distribution. (SD1)

SB 235SD2  RELATING TO EMPLOYEE PROTECTION UNDER THE
        WHISTLEBLOWER LAW                              LAB,JHA
        Amends the Whistleblowers' Protection Act by expanding
        areas of protected conduct and penalties for
        violations. (SD2)

SB 951SD1  RELATING TO EMPLOYEE BENEFITS PLANS    LAB,HED/EDN,FIN
        Authorizes the University of Hawaii and the Department
        of Education to establish custodial accounts for the  
        deposit of annuity payments of employees of the
        University of Hawaii and the Department of Education.
