 HB 42   RELATING TO JOB SHARING                         LAB, FIN
      Authorizes the agencies of the executive, judiciary, and
      legislative branches to implement a voluntary job-
      sharing program.

HB 50    RELATING TO TEMPORARY DISABILITY INSURANCE       LAB,FIN
      Bases the qualifications for benefit eligibility on the
      52 weeks immediately before the first day of disability
      instead of 4 calendar quarters.

HB 96    REALATING TO PENALTIES                          LAB, FIN
      Clarifies existing penalty provisions applied to
      contractors who violate Chapter 104, HRS, which deals
      with the wages and hours of employees on public works.

HB 98    RELATING TO PENSIONSER'S BONUS                  LAB, FIN
      Extends ERS pensioners' bonus until July 1, 2001.

HB 105   RELATING TO PUBLIC SERVICE                LAB,JHA,FIN
      Prohibits Fire Protection Services from accepting
      employment applications from persons older than 32 years
      of age.

HB 186   RELATING TO SURVIVING CHILDREN                  LAB, FIN
      Where there is no surviving spouse of employee who
      qualified for but had not yet retired, allows surviving

 
      dependent children to receive ERS death benefits after
      age 18 while a full-time student or age 23, whichever
      occurs first.

HB 266   RELATING TO BREASTFEEDING                       LAB, JHA
      Enacts the new mothers breastfeeding promotion and
      protection act.

HB 289   RELATING TO CIVIL RIGHTS                        LAB, JHA
      Establishes a civil cause of action and enhanced
      criminal penalties for hate crimes against persons
      because of race, color, religion, ancestry, national
      origin,gender, transgender, sexual orientation, age or
      disability.  The bill also provides for a reporting
      mechanism to compile, track, and analyze hate crimes
      data.

HB 312   RELATING TO ATHLETIC CONTEST OFFICIALS          LAB, JHA
      Includes injuring athletic contest officials as assault
      in the 2nd degree.  Provides exception to civil
      liability for athletic contest officials.  Exempts
      athletic contest officiating from "employment" under
      unemployment compensation law.

HB 530   RELATING TO EMPLOMENT DISCRIMINATION            LAB, JHA
      Makes it an unlawful discriminatory practice for an
      employer to condition employment or hiring upon the
      employee's relinquishment of the right to initiate or
      participate in an investigation or proceeding under
      chapter 368, HRS, or any other right under chapters 368
      or 378, HRS.
