SB 1216       RELATING TO BICYCLING                       TRN,JHA
           Allows bicyclists to travel on the edge of
           roadways, except under certain conditions.

SB 1403       RELATING TO THE TRAFFIC CODE                TRN,JHA
           Allows transportation departments of state and
           counties to use highway markings or curb markings
           to indicate parking prohibitions.

SB 700 SD2    RELATING TO LOW-SPEED VEHICLES              TRN,JHA
           Regulates neighborhood electric vehicles, which are
           designed to operate at speeds of 25 miles per hour
           or less.  Requires these vehicles to display slow
           moving vehicle emblems.  (SD2)

SB 1212 SD2   RELATING TO USE OF INTOXICANTS              TRN,JHA
           Amends driving impaired statutes to consolidate and
           conform offenses relating to operating a vehicle
           while using an intoxicant.  Makes conforming
           amendments.  (SD2)

 
 
 
 
SB 176 HD1    RELATING TO CHILDREN                        HSH,JHA
           Toughens Hawaii's criminal laws for perpetrators of
           child abuse.  (SB176 HD1)

SB 1088       RELATING TO ENFORCEMENT                     OMR,JHA
  SD1 HD1     To sell or take action to cause the sale of
           perishable natural resources that are seized.

SB 1512 SD1   RELATING TO THE UNIFORM PARTNERSHIP ACT         JHA
           Adopts uniform partnership act.  Repeals current
           partnership law. (SD1)

SB 1270       RELATING TO EDUCATION                       EDN,JHA
  SD1 HD1     Allows private schools to develop procedures for
           obtaining verifiable information regarding the
           criminal history of persons who are employed or are
           seeking employment in positions which place them in
           close proximity with children. (SB1270 HD1)

SB 605        RELATING TO CIVIL RIGHTS                    LAB,JHA
  SD1 HD1     Establishes a civil cause of action and enhanced
           criminal penalties for hate crimes against persons
           because of race, color, religion, ancestry,
           national origin, gender, transgender, sexual
           orientation, age or disability; provides a
           reporting mechanism to compile, track, and analyze
           hate crimes data.
           
SB 1151       RELATING TO CIVIL RIGHTS                    LAB,JHA
  SD1 HD1     Adds familial status as a protected status in anti-
           blockbusting law. (SB1151 HD1)

SB 1032       RELATING TO INVOLUNTARY PSYCHIATRIC     HLT,JHA,FIN
  SD1 HD1     TREATMENT
           Authorizes DOH to adopt administrative rules to
           establish an administrative process allowing
           involuntary medication of psychiatric patients
           institutionalized at the Hawaii State Hospital in
           order to alleviate mental illness and restore
           competency while protecting the rights of patients.
