SB 594 SD1    RELATING TO FIREARMS                            JHA
           Defines good cause exemption for possession of
           firearms by a person who is the subject of a
           restraining order. (SD1)

SB 591 SD1    RELATING TO CUSTODY AND VISITATION              JHA
           Permits courts to order visitation rights for a
           parent who has murdered the other parent of the
           child only if the physical safety and the
           psychological well-being of the child can be
           protected. (SD1)

SB 21 SD1     RELATING TO ATHLETIC CONTEST OFFICIALS          JHA
           Amends definition of "educational worker" for
           purpose of the offense of assault in the 2nd

SB 922 SD1    RELATING TO UNAUTHORIZED CONTROL OF             JHA
           PROPELLED VEHICLE
           Includes the "knowingly" state of mind to the
           offense of unauthorized control of a propelled
           vehicle. (SD1)

SB 631 SD1    RELATING TO POLITICAL PARTIES                   JHA
           Amends the elections law to make it easier for a
           political party to qualify and operate in Hawaii.

SB 1379 SD2   RELATING TO CRIMINAL ASSAULTS AND               JHA
           RELATED OFFENSES
           Creates class C felony offense of assault against
           police officer while in the performance of duty.
           (SD2)

SB 616 SD1    RELATING TO PROSTITUTION                        JHA
           Provides a civil cause of action for damages to
           persons injured as a result of being coerced into
           prostitution.  (SD1)

SB 1254 SD1   RELATING TO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS              JHA
           Extends the statute of limitations for class A
           felonies from six years to ten years and class B
           from three years to six years.  Provides that class
           C felonies remain at three years. (SD1)

SB 921        RELATING TO DISTRICT COURT                  JHA,FIN
           Eliminates requirement that multiple offenses be
           charged "through complaint or indictment" with
           respect to district court's concurrent jurisdiction
           of abuse of family or household member offenses,
           when multiple offenses are involved, of which at
           least one is within the jurisdiction of the
           district court.

SB 1469       RELATING TO THE ADJUDICATION OF             JHA,FIN
           TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS
           Repeals Chapter 291D, HRS, relating to the
           adjudication of traffic infractions.

SB 646        RELATING TO GOVERNMENT                  WLU,JHA,FIN
  SD2 HD1     Reduces the cost of copying government records from
           50 cents to 6 cents.  Expands powers of the Barbers
           Point NAS Redevelopment Commission.  Expands
           responsibilities of Stadium Authority to include
           Kapolei Rec. Sports Complex; creates Kapolei

SB 1635 SD2   RELATING TO PUBLIC LAND TRUST               JHA,FIN
           Provides a process to resolve ceded land revenue
           issues.  (SD2)

SB 1146 SD1   RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOMES                  JHA
           COMMISSION ACT, 1920, AS AMENDED
           Authorizes that a homestead lessee may transfer the
           leasehold interest in a tract to a spouse, child,
           or grandchild who is at least one-quarter Hawaiian.

SB 1303 SD2   RELATING TO THE REVIEW OF THE              JHA, FIN
           SALARIES OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE OFFICE
           OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS
           Re-establishes the Office of Hawaiian Affairs
           Trustee Salary Commission.  (SD2)

SB 1160 SD2   RELATING TO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES           JHA,FIN
           Amends Hawaii's Uniform Controlled Substances Act
           to conform to changes in federal and State law.
           (SD2)

SB 1345 SD2   RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION         JHA,FIN
           IN THE JUDICIARY
           Provides salary increases for judges.  Changes
           retirement provisions for future judges. (SD2)
