HB 1214        RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER          TRN,JHA,FIN
            LICENSING
            Provides the authority for licensing a driver with
            a valid and qualified commercial driver's license
            issued by any Canadian province without requiring
            the driver to pass a knowledge or skills test.

HB 1690        RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER           JHA,FIN
            LICENSING
            Exempts foreign nationals, foreign students, and
            diplomatic and consular officers from the foreign
            driver's license surrender and invalidation
            requirements of section 286-102(c).  Establishes
            procedure for temporary surrender of foreign

HB 532 HD1     RELATING TO GENDER EQUITY IN           EDN,JHA,FIN
            SPORTS
            Prohibits persons, on the basis of their sex, from
            being discriminated against in any
            interscholastic, club, or intramural athletics
            offered by a public school.  Prohibits public
            schools from providing athletics separately on the
            basis of sex.

HB 876         RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT              HSH,JHA,FIN
            ENFORCEMENT
            Allows a parent who does not contest his or her
            child support obligations and who is in good
            standing with the parent's payments to opt out of
            the child support enforcement agency payment
            system.

HB 280         RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT              HSH,JHA,FIN
            ENFORCEMENT
            Requires interest collected by the Child Support
            Enforcement Agency on child support payments to be
            used to pay penalties to custodial parents for
            late payments and to make a certain percentage of
            the funds available to improve client services.

HB 1389        PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE      EDN,JHA,FIN
            VII, SECTION 12, AND ARTICLE X, SECTION I, OF THE
            HAWAII CONSTITUTION, TO AUTHORIZE THE ISSUANCE OF
            SPECIAL PURPOSE REVENUE BONDS TO PRIVATE PRIMARY
            OR SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
            Proposes a constitutional amendment to allow the
            issuance of special purpose revenue bonds for
            private primary or secondary educational
            institutions to build or repair facilities.
