HB 1448       RELATING TO JUDGES FOR THE CIRCUIT COURT    JHA,FIN
           Increases the number of circuit court judges in the
           fifth circuit by one.

HB 464        RELATING TO CUSTODY AND VISITATION          JHA,FIN
           Requires the family court, if awarding custody or
           visitation to a parent with a history of domestic
           violence or habitually using drugs or alcohol, to
           state the reason for doing so on the record, and to
           stipulate the time, day, place, and manner of
           transfer of the child.

HB 1529       RELATING TO ROBBERY                             JHA
           Defines the elements that constitute robbery
           offenses.

HB 286        RELATING TO SPEEDING                    TRN,JHA,FIN
           Requires tripling of fines for speeding in a school
           zone or construction area.

HB 8 HD1      RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER        TRN,JHA,FIN
           LICENSING
           Prohibits the use of a social security number as an
           identification number on a driver's license.

 
HB 167 HD1    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER        TRN,JHA,FIN
           LICENSING
           Establishes a graduated licensing procedure for
           persons under 17.

HB 1117 HD1   RELATING TO THE CHILD PROTECTIVE ACT    HSH,JHA,FIN
           Proposes changes to bring Hawaii into compliance
           with the federal AFSA, which seeks to expedite
           permanency for children in foster care.

HB 1037       MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE   JHA,FIN
           UNCLAIMED PROPERTY PROGRAM
           Appropriates additional funds ($1,000,000) in
           fiscal year 1998-99 to pay judgements and claims
           from the Unclaimed Property Program.

HB 1051       MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR       JHA,FIN
           COURT APPOINTED COUNSEL.
           Appropriates additional funds in fiscal year 1998-
           99 to pay for court appointed counsel expenses.

HB 1430       RELATING TO THE STATUTORY REVISION:  AMENDING,  JHA
           REENACTING, OR REPEALING VARIOUS PROVISIONS OF THE
           HAWAII REVISED STATUTES AND THE SESSION LAWS OF
           HAWAII FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING ERRORS AND
           REFERENCES, CLARIFYING LANGUAGE, AND DELETING
           OBSOLETE OR UNNECESSARY PROVISIONS
           Amends, reenacts, or repeals various provisions of
           the Hawaii Revised Statutes and the Session Laws of
           Hawaii for the purpose of correcting errors and
           references, clarifying language, and deleting
           obsolete or unnecessary provisions.

AND THE REQUIRED NO. OF COPIES THAT IS NEEDED FOR SUBMITTAL.
