HB 996     RELATING TO MEETINGS OF STATE AND COUNTY BOARDS    JDC
        Provides a means of maintaining the confidentiality of
        information, including documents, which is required to
        be kept confidential by a state or federal law, or a
        state or federal court order, when that information is
        needed to facilitate the deliberations or decision
        making of a state or county board.

HB 160     RELATING TO STATE AND COUNTY IMMUNITY FROM         JDC
        LIABILITY
        Extends the sunset date for state and county immunity
        from liability at public beach parks.

HB 1496    RELATING TO DEADLY OR DANGEROUS WEAPONS            JDC
HD1        Prohibits manufacture, sale, transfer, transport or
        possession of butterfly knives. 

HB 300     RELATING TO THE PENAL CODE                         JDC
HD1        Creates class C felony offense of assault against
        police officer in the 1st degree.  Amends the present
        misdemeanor offense of assault against police officer
        to make it an offense in the 2nd degree. 

HB 177     RELATING TO HARASSMENT                             JDC
HD1        Clarifies the basis for granting a temporary
        restraining order.  Increases the duration of a
        temporary restraining order.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
