SB 991     RELATING TO PRIVACY                                JDC
        Establishes the Hawaii Information Privacy Act, an
        omnibus privacy protection act to provide safeguards
        against the unwarranted private commercial collection
        and dissemination of personal information about
        individuals

SB 794     RELATING TO PUBLIC ACCESS                     JDC, WAM
        Makes an appropriation for the office of information
        practices

SB 649     RELATING TO LOBBYISTS                         JDC, WAM
        Prohibits state moneys from being used to pay the
        salary, fees, or commissions of a lobbyist

SB 906     RELATING TO PUBLIC FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE            JDC
        STATEMENTS
        Requires financial disclosure of members of the board
        of regents, board of land and natural resources, the
        board of agriculture, and the Hawaiian homes
        commission

SB 1016    RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE RULES              JDC, WAM
        Limits to 10 cents a page the amount each state agency
        other than the LG may charge for copies of rules.
        Allows seperate charges for searching, identifying,
        and segregating rules to be copied.  Requires posting
        of full text of proposed rules on LG's website
        effective 1/1/2000

 
SB 1511    MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR UNIFORM LAWS        JDC, WAM
        Appropriates funds for Hawaii's contribution to the
        costs of the National Conference of Commissioners on
        Uniform State Laws, and for related registration and
        travel expenses

SB 1375    RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY TAX APPEALS         JDC, WAM
        Restricts right of real property tax appeal to a
        person contractually obligated to pay it

SB 983     RELATING TO THE UNIFORM PRINCIPAL AND         JDC, WAM
        INCOME ACT
        Repeals the revised uniform principal and income act
        and establishes a new uniform principal and income act

SB 1151    RELATING TO CIVIL RIGHTS                           JDC
        Adds "sexual orientation" as a protected basis in the
        laws against discrimination in public accommodations
        and real property transactions and "familial status"
        to the blockbusting law in housing

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
