        VENDOR FACILITY PROGRAM
        Ensures that the process of selection of the state
        committee of blind vendors and the committee's
        responsibilities are in accordance with the federal
        Randolph-Sheppherd Act.  (Say)

H.B. 1124  RELATING TO THE STATE ADVISORY      HSH, FIN
        COUNCIL ON REHABILITATION 
        Revises the composition of the Rehabilitation Council
        to conform to federal mandates. 

H.B. 1120  RELATING TO PERSONAL CARE SERVICES   HSH, FIN
        PAYMENT
        Repeals personal care services provisions which
        are now provided through the home and community-
        based medicaid waiver programs.  (Say)

H.B. 1122  RELATING TO UNCLAIMED FINANCIAL     HSH, FIN
        ASSISTANCE BENEFITS
        Allows for the reversion of unclaimed benefits to
        the state upon the death of a client.  (Say)

H.B. 397 RELATING TO YOUTH                   HSH, FIN
        Appropriates funds to DHS to implement cost-

 
        effective programs for youths that teach character,
        responsibility, positive social values and non-
        violence in partnership with private sector and
        nonprofit organizations.  (Case)

H.B. 543 RELATING TO FOSTER CARE             HSH, FIN
        Extends foster board allowances to persons aged 21
        for meals and shelter only.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 544 RELATING TO SAFETY NET HEALTH PLANS  HSH, FIN
        Establishes a safety net health plan program under the
        department of human services to distribute QUEST funds
        to safety net health plans.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 487 RELATING TO INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT   HSH, FIN
        ACCOUNTS
        Establishes an Individual Development Account to 
        promote entrepreneurship, education and self-sufficency
        for welfare recipients and low-income indivduals. (Lee)

H.B.1575 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE     HSH, FIN
        MILLENIUM YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONGRESS
        Makes appropriation to DBEDT to plan and coordinate home
        stay services for participants in the children's
        millenium congress.  (Takai)

H.B. 1437  RELATING TO CHILD PROTECTION        HSH, JHA
        Requires department of human services to notify 
        police of all reports received by the department with 
        regard to child abuse.  Requires permanency planning
        within twelve months of a child's placement in foster
        care.  (Say)

H.B. 1484  RELATING TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE       HSH, JHA
        Makes any offense of abuse of a family or household
        member a Class C felony if: committed subsequent to a
        2nd conviction; or committed subsequent to two prior
        convictions for assault, terroristic threatening, or
        abuse of a family or household member involving the
        same victim.  (Say)

H.B. 631 RELATING TO CHILDREN                HSH, JHA
        Toughens Hawaii's laws for perpetrators of child abuse.

H.B. 1574  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE     HSH, JHA, FIN

        Appropriates funds for a children's law center.  (Takai)
