        Requires health insurance coverage for medical foods
and low-protein modified food products for the treatment of
inherited metabolic diseases. (Santiago)

H.B. 1151  Making an Emergency Appropriation for  HLT, EDN, FIN
        the Child and Adolescent Mental Health
        Division
        
        Authorizes emergency appropriation to DOH. (Say B/R)

 


 
H.B. 1145  Making an Emergency Appropriation for      HLT, FIN
        Emergency Medical Services
        
        Provides funds to meet the collective bargaining costs
for county emergency ambulance personnel. (Say B/R)

H.B. 1149  Making an Emergency Appropriation for the   HLT, FIN
        Hawaii Health Systems Corporation

        Proposes an emergency appropriation to ensure the
systems and equipment of the HHSC are Year 2000 compliant; and to
reduce the workers' compensation costs. (Say B/R)

H.B. 1663  Relating to Health                    HLT, EDN, FIN
        
        Requires rules determining eligibility of exceptional
children to be established by the department of health and the
department of education.  Requires DOE to evaluate, identify, and
report to DOH any suspicious increase or significant clusters of
disease or illness suspected to be related to environmental
contamination. (Santiago)

H.B. 861 Relating to Anatomical Gifts      HLT, CPC/JHA, FIN
        
        Requires all acute care hospitals in Hawaii to report
to the organ procurement organization by telephone to determine
suitability for organ, tissue, or eye donation of the individual
who is dying. (Abinsay)

H.B. 547 Relating to Anatomical Gifts      HLT, CPC/JHA, FIN

        Amends Hawaii's Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. (Arakaki)

H.B. 1664  Relating to Health                    HLT, CPC, FIN
        
        Implements patients rights and responsibilites task
force recommendations to the patient bill of rights and
responsibilities act and related laws. (Santiago)

H.B. 327 Relating to Mental Health             HLT, CPC, FIN
        
        Adds marriage and family therapists for purposes of
mental health and alcohol and drug abuse treatment insurance
benefits. (Santiago)

H.B. 622 Relating to Health Insurance          HLT, CPC, FIN
        
        Changes coverage for biennial mammograms for women
aged 40 to 49 to annual mammograms for all women aged 40 and
older. (Morita)

 


 
H.B. 1150  Relating to Involuntary Psychiatric    HLT, JHA, FIN
        Treatment

        Authorizes the adoption of administrative rules
allowing an interdisciplinary panel of mental health clinicians
to review applications by the department of health for
involuntary psychiatric treatment with medication for patients at
the Hawaii State Hospital. (Say B/R)

H.B. 1065  Relating to Insurance                 HLT, CPC, FIN
        
        Establishes the health insurance revolving fund for
the purpose of providing a means to pay the costs of regulating
health insurance. (Say B/R)

H.B. 1066  Relating to Insurance                 HLT, CPC, FIN

        Clarifies and improves laws regulating insurance,
including mutual benefits societies and health maintenance
organizations. (Say B/R)

H.B. 1068  Relating to Health Maintenance        HLT, CPC, FIN
        Organizations
        
        Amends the provisions governing fees for certificates
of authority for health maintenance organizations. (Say B/R)

H.B. 749 Relating to Dietitians                HLT, CPC, FIN
        
        Creates a licensing program for dietitians that
establishes licensing and disciplinary procedures and standards,
and sets forth educational qualifications necessary to obtain a
dietitian's license. (Kawakami)

H.B. 1147  Relating to Hawaii Health Systems     HLT, LAB, FIN
        Corporation Exempt Positions                       

        Adds human resource directors to the list of positions
at HHSC which are exempt from chapters 76, 77, and 89 HRS. (Say

H.B. 1195  Relating to Security at Various State  HLT, PSM, FIN
        Hospitals

        Transfer the functions and authority of uniformed
security employees and security contracts for the Hawaii Health
Systems Corporation from the Department of Public to HHSC. (Say
B/R)

 
 
H.B. 1275  Relating to Hospital Violence         HLT, JHA, FIN

        Requires all hospitals to have security plans.
Requires reporting of any criminal assault on on-duty hospital
personnel within 48 hours. (Lee)
