        Amends definition of "certified substance abuse staff"
        to add psychiatrists with added qualifications in
        addiction psychiatry. (Chun Oakland)

S.B. 1460  Relating to Certified Substance Abuse      HLT, CPC
        Staff

        Adds to definition of "certified substance abuse
        staff" psychologists who hold a current certification
        from the American Psychological Association College of
        Professional Psychology in the treatment of alcohol
        and other psychoactive substance use disorders.

S.D. 2   Abuse Prevention and Treatment Services

        Abuse funds for substance abuse prevention and
        treatment programs. (Chun Oakland)

S.B. 802 Relating to the Commission on Persons      HLT, FIN
        with Disabilities
        
        Creates a special fund in the commission on persons
        with disabilities. Allows the commission to charge
        reasonable fees to review private sector building
        plans to comply with ADA requirements.  Allows fund to
        be used for commission staff and operations.  (Levin)

        Establishes a statewide rural health plan; creates
        rural health special fund; requests counties to create
        a position of rural transportation coordinator.

S.B. 498 Relating to Prescriptive Authority for     HLT, CPC
S.D. 1   Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

        Eliminates requirement that advanced practice
        registered nurses' prescriptive authority be defined
        by formularies established by Board of Medical
        Examiners. (Levin)

S.B. 779 Relating to Dental Hygienists              HLT, CPC
S.D. 2
        Establishes educational criteria for administration of
        intra-oral block anesthesia and certification
        requirement for administration of intra-oral
        anesthesia by dental hygienists. (Taniguchi)

S.B. 845 Relating to Social Workers             HLT/HSH, CPC
S.D. 1   
        Establishes licensing categories for "social work
        associate" and "licensed clinical social worker."
        Amends definition of "social worker."  Makes licensure
        of clinical social workers effective January 1, 2001.
