HB 1732    RELATING TO PESTICIDES                         EEP,CPC
        Exempts nontoxic pesticides from state labeling
        regulation.

Originally heard on Monday, February 8, 1999:
HB 595     RELATING TO CONSERVATION DISTRICTS         EEP,WLU,FIN
        Highlights the importance of preserving scenic
        resources in the conservation district.  Establishes
        guidelines for the board of land and natural resources
        to use in considering applications for the
        construction of high voltage electric power
        transmission lines in the conservation district and in
        the approval of high-voltage electric power
        transmission lines greater than forty-six kilovolts in
        the conservation district.  Amends the procedure for
        the approval of applications for high-voltage electric
        power transmission lines in the conservation district.

HB 1607    RELATING TO NOISE                              EEP,JHA
        Requires the DOH to establish maximum decibel levels
        for specified types of noise.  Authorizes citations
        and fines up to $100 per day for violations of the
        noise levels.

        Broadens scope of energy task force to explore the
        most cost-effective means for supporting increased
        energy efficiency and sustainability.

HB 180     RELATING TO AN ALIEN SPECIES                   EEP,FIN
        COORDINATOR                                           
        Creates an alien species coordinator position within
        the department of land and natural resources.

HB 1665    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE               EEP,FIN 
        IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MAUI INVASIVE SPECIES COMMITTEE
        FY 2000 ACTION PLAN                                   
        Appropriates $293,594 to the Maui invasive species
        committee.

HB 633     RELATING TO INDIVIDUAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT    EEP,FIN
        SYSTEM INCOME TAX CREDIT                              
        Provides an income tax credit of $450 on the purchase
        and installation of an individual wastewater treatment
        system.

HB 839     RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAXATION        EEP,FIN
        OF WASTEWATER LEASING                                 
        Exempts from the general excise tax amounts received
        by an operator of a wastewater facility from any
        county.

HB 1595    RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL            EEP,FIN
        PURPOSE REVENUE BONDS TO ASSIST WASTE PROCESSING
        ENTERPRISES                                           
        Authorizes the issuance of special purpose revenue
        bonds to assist waste processing enterprises.

HB 858     RELATING TO WASTEWATER                         EEP,FIN
        Creates a special fund for the board of certification
        to certify individuals to operate wastewater treatment
        plants.

HB 1277    RELATING TO WASTEWATER                        EEP,FIN 
        TREATMENT FACILITIES                                  
        Excludes from definition of public utility any
        facility that reclaims wastewater provided that at
        least 10 per cent of the wastewater processed is used
        by a state or county agency.

HB 1548    RELATING TO WASTEWATER REUSE                   EEP,FIN
        Defines "recycled water" and "reclaimed water" as
        water, which, as a result of treatment of waste, is

 
        suitable for a direct beneficial use or a controlled
        use that would not otherwise occur and is therefore
        considered a valuable resource.

HB 1549    RELATING TO WASTEWATER REUSE                   EEP,FIN
        Amends the definition of wastewater to exclude
        recycled water.
