        Requires the department of education to transfer
        moneys to the state DOD to support the Hawaii National
        Guard Youth Challenge Program.  (KAWAMOTO, et al)

S.B 1195 RELATING TO SCHOOL BUSES                EDU/TIA,GOH
        Provides school bus drivers with the appropriate
        supplies for blood-borne pathogen countermeasures.

        Designates the respective manager and chief engineer
        of the county boards of water supply as the chief
        procurement officers for the county departments of

S.B. 627 RELATING TO PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES   TIA,JDC
        Repeals the state residency requirement applicable to
        police officers and employees occupying positions
        involved in the planning and executing of measures for
        the security of Hawaii and the United States.

S.B. 373 RELATING TO OPERATIONS OF THE REAL PROPERTY TAX
        ASSESSMENT DIVISION

        Prohibits city and county of Honolulu from raising
        real property taxes until state auditor can conduct an
        audit.  (TAM, et al)

S.B.1467 RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES                  TIA,WAM
        Allows for the counties to implement a program of
        disposing abandoned or derelict vehicles, and to
        collect fees for such a program.  (CHUN)

S.B. 1568  RELATING TO CRIME                           TIA,JDC
        Expands prohibition of prostitution in Waikiki to
        other areas designated by the council of the
        appropriate county.  (KANNO) (BR)

S.B. 751 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO UPGRADE THE
        TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM OF THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE
        DEPARTMENT                                  TIA,WAM
        Appropriates funds for the Hawaii county police
        department to upgrade its telecommunications system.

S.B. 1481  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HAWAII ISLAND VETERANS
        MEMORIAL INC.

        Appropriates $2,950,000 as grant-in-aid to Hawaii
        Island Veterans Memorial Inc. to build a combined
        veterans center in Hawaii county.  (MATSUURA, et al)

S.B. 1441  RELATING TO VETERANS RIGHTS AND BENEFITS    TIA,WAM
        Requires the comptroller, at the request of a deceased
        Filipino veteran's survivor or an interested party, to
        make payment directly to a mortuary or a crematory for
        providing funeral and burial services; and for
        transporting the veteran's remains to the Philippines,
        upon submission of an unpaid invoice to the OVS.

S.B. 1642  RELATING TO FRANCHISES                      TIA,WAM
        Establishes a board to license gamebird testing
        facilities.  (MIZUGUCHI) (BR)

S.B 169  RELATING TO CIGARETTES AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS  TIA,WAM
        Requires wholesale and retail tobacco retailers to
        obtain licenses for selling tobacco from the liquor
        commission.  Prohibits minors from purchasing
        cigarettes or tobacco from retail tobacco dealers.

S.B. 1212  RELATING TO USE OF INTOXICANTS              TIA,JDC
        Amends driving impaired statutes to consolidate and
        conform offenses relating to operating a vehicle while
        using an intoxicant. (KAWAMOTO, et al)

S.B. 1556  RELATING TO GENERAL EXCISE TAX              TIA,WAM
        Exempts from the general excise tax amounts received
        from federal contractors by contractors or
        subcontractors provided 100% of the stockholders,
        owners, managers, and employees are residents.
