        Authorizes the natural energy laboratory to include
        retail and commercial activities within a research and
        technology park.

HB 946     RELATING TO AQUACULTURE                        EDB,FIN
        Expands in the general excise tax law the definition
        of "wholesaler" to include transactions carried on in
        the business of aquaculture production.

HB 1019    RELATING TO SECURITIES                         EDB,CPC
        Enables small businesses to obtain increased access to
        growth capital by allowing a new form of equity
        financing.

HB 1020    RELATING TO THE HAWAII CAPITAL LOAN PROGRAM    EDB,FIN
        Extends both the business loan guarantee program and
        the neighbor island preferential business loan
        interest rate.

HB 1058    RELATING TO STATE PLANNING                     EDB,FIN
        Repeals State functional plan requirements.

HB 1338    RELATING TO PUBLIC CONTRACTS                   EDB,FIN
        Extend the limits on the amount a contractor may
        withhold from a subcontractor to the amounts a
        subcontractor may withhold from another subcontractor
        for retainage to insure proper performance on public
        contracts.  Repeals prohibition from retaining any
        amount after 50% of the work is satisfactorily
        performed.

HB 1566    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A COMMUNITY MAPPING
        PROJECT FOR WAIALUA, O'AHU                     EDB,FIN
        Appropriates $85,000 for a community mapping project
        for Waialua, O'ahu. 


 
 
 
 
HB 203     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP A NEUROSCIENCE
HD 1       INDUSTRY IN THE STATE                      HLT,EDB,FIN
        Appropriates funds to develop a neuroscience industry
        in the State.

HB 873     RELATING TO AMUSEMENT AND THEME PARKS      TSM,EDB,FIN
HD 1       Provides for the development of amusement and theme
        parks by the department of business, economic
        development and tourism.

HB 1620    RELATING TO HEALTH CARE COMMUNITIES        HLT,EDB,FIN
        Authorizes the housing and community development
        corporation of Hawaii to work in partnership with
        private sector entities to develop health care
        communities in the State.  Establishes a health care
        community revolving fund to make loans to businesses
        for the construction of the health care community.

        Establishes a qualified improvement tax credit for
        capitalized costs of construction and equipment
        related to an existing or new facility located in
        Waikiki.

HD 1       Tax credits for employers hiring recently released
        persons who have been incarcerated for conviction of
        felonies.
