HB 562   RELATING TO MEASUREMENT STANDARDS         ECD, CPN
(SB 480)  Provides additional labeling requirements for
         macadamia nuts.

HB 898 HD2  RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN       ECD, WAM
(SB 1431) AGRICULTURAL WATER SYSTEM FOR UPCOUNTRY MAUI      
         Establishes a separate agricultural water supply and
         delivery system under the board of agriculture for
         the farms in upcountry Maui.

HB 980 HD2  RELATING TO IRRIGATION WATER DEVELOPMENT   ECD, WAM
(SB 1061) Amends current law to assess only cultivatable lands
         within the irrigation district boundaries.

HB 948 HD2  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE AGRICULTURAL ECD, WAM
         WATER USE AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN
         Appropriates funds to implement the agricultural
         water use and development plan.

HB 1380 HD1 MAKING AN INTERIM APPROPRIATION FOR THE   ECD, WAM

 
         DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, AGRICULTURAL
         RESOURCE MANAGEMENT DIVISION
         Appropriates funds as an interim subsidy to the
         irrigation system revolving fund to be used by the
         department of agriculture, agricultural resource
         management division, until a water toll increase is
         put into effect.

HB 978   RELATING TO AGRICULTURE                   ECD, WAM
(SB 1059) Encourages private lenders to provide financing for
         diversified ag by reducing risks through the
         department's ability to guarantee loans.  Up to 90%
         of the loan plus interest would be eligible.

HB 979 HD2  RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL LOANS            ECD, WAM
(SB 1060) Includes credit unions under the definition of
         "private lender" for obtaining agricultural loans and
         reduces the number of required denials from three to
         two in the loan application process.

HB 983   MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE  ECD, WAM
(SB 1064) AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
         Authorizes an emergency appropriation of $50,000 in
         revolving funds for fiscal year 1998-1999 to allow
         the Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC) to
         reimburse the papaya industry for securing patent
         licenses needed to commercialize the transgenic
         papaya and carry out its ongoing projects.

HB 1632 HD3 RELATING TO AGRICULTURE                   ECD, WAM
         Appropriates $2 for for fiscal 1999-2000 to develop
         new markets and expand existing markets for Hawaii's
         papaya industry; provided the Papaya Administration
         Committee provides $1 for this purpose.

HB 374 HD2  RELATING TO AGRICULTURE                   ECD, WAM
(SB 377)  Appropriates moneys to the Department of Agriculture
         to establish appropriate sites for distribution and
         consolidation centers in Hawaii and mainland states
         for Hawaii agricultural products.

HB 557 HD2  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TROPICAL FLOWER  ECD, WAM
         RESEARCH AND PROGRAMS
         Appropriates funds to conduct research and promote
         tropical flowers.

HB 333 HD2  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AGRICULTURE   ECD, WAM
         Appropriates funds for agriculture for fiscal year
         1999-2000.
