       Allows amounts received by inventors or creators
       directly attributable to commercial exploitation of
       federally protected intellectual property that was
       demonstrably invented in the State to be exempted from
       state income tax.

S.B. 640  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE SIXTH ANNUAL ECD, WAM
       ROYAL HAWAIIAN ROWING CHALLENGE
       Appropriates funds for the planning, production, and
       promotion of the Royal Hawaiian Rowing Challenge.

S.B. 655  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE VISITOR ALOHA  ECD, WAM
       SOCIETY OF HAWAII
       Funding to support the efforts of the Visitor Aloha
       Society of Hawaii.

S.B. 678  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SPORTS TOURISM   ECD, WAM
       DEVELOPMENT, PROMOTION, AND MARKETING
       Appropriates state funds for the development,
       marketing, and promotion of sports tourism in Hawaii.

S.B. 944  RELATING TO INVESTMENT ATTRACTION           ECD, WAM
       Provides a commercial construction income tax credit.

S.B. 1222 RELATING TO THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY      ECD, WAM

 
       Exempts amounts received from motion picture production
       or from the construction of a motion picture production
       facility from general excise tax; amends the definition
       of "use" to include material, parts, tools, or
       equipment imported or purchased for use in the
       entertainment industry.

S.B. 1443 RELATING TO SPECIAL PURPOSE REVENUE BONDS   ECD, WAM
       Allows SPRBs to be issued for the purpose of assisting
       marketing of the hotel industry in Hawaii for
       incentives, special events, small conventions, and
       constructing a facility in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

S.B. 1503 RELATING TO TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO MICRO-   ECD, WAM
       ENTERPRISES PROVIDED UNDER GRANTS TO NONPROFIT
       BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS
       Creates, under the DBEDT, technical assistance grants
       to nonprofit business development organizations to
       enable them to provide technical assistance and loans
       to microenterprises.  Appropriation.

        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 single-sided, single-
spaced, stapled copies of their testimony with two holes punched
at the top to the committee clerk, Room 201, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
