S.B. 454 RELATING TO LABELING                         ECD, CPN
      Requires proper labeling of aquatic food grown,
      manufactured, significantly processed, or landed in
      Hawaii.

S.B. 1427        RELATING TO AQUACULTURE           ECD, WAM
      Expands in the general excise tax law the definition of
      "wholesaler" to include transactions carried on in the
      business of aquaculture production.

S.B. 227 RELATING TO SMALL BOAT HARBORS               ECD, WAM
      Requires moorage to be designated at each small boat
      harbor for use by commercial fishing operators holding
      valid use permit.

S.B. 809 RELATING TO BOATING                          ECD, WAM
      Allows persons who own catamarans and who have obtained
      and/or maintained a commercial registration to land such
      catamarans on Waikiki beach and to operate on Waikiki
      shoreline to transfer its commercial registration to a
      corporation.

S.B. 1085        RELATING TO STATE BOATING FACILITIES ECD, WAM
      Authorizes BLNR to solicit proposals from private firms
      to manage, operate, and improve Ala Wai small boat
      harbor and other small boating facilities.  Clarifies
      that leases may be issued for small boat harbors and
      other state boating facilities with the revenue
      deposited to the boating special fund.  Removes the
      prohibition of commercial vessel activities within Ala
      Wai and Keehi small boat harbors.

S.B. 1454        RELATING TO PERSONAL WATERCRAFT   ECD, WAM
      Implements mandatory education and other measures
      recommended by the Thrill Craft Advisory Committee.

S.B. 987 RELATING TO THE WAIKIKI WAR MEMORIAL         ECD, WAM
      AND NATATORIUM
      Establishes the Waikiki War Memorial and Natatorium as a
      state monument with department of land and natural
      resources responsible for historic preservation.

        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 single-sided, single-
spaced, stapled copies of their testimony with two holes punched
at the top to the committee clerk, Room 201, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
