S.B. 742 RELATING TO SMALL CORPORATE OFFERINGS        ECD, CPN
        REGISTRATION
        Authorizes small companies to raise capital through
        small corporate offering registration (SCOR), a
        uniform registration system that allows small
        companies to obtain equity financing by selling common
        stock directly to the public.  Defines SCOR.
        Identifies registration form to be utilized by SCOR.

S.B. 976 RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS,      ECD, WAM
        ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND TOURISM
        Establishes construction industry branch within DBEDT.

        Allowing SCOR for equity financing

S.B. 23  RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY   ECD, WAM
        Changes nonvoting members of HTA to voting members.

S.B. 459 RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY   ECD, WAM
        Requires that one of the members at large of the
        Hawaii Tourism Authority be a representative of the
        office of Hawaiian affairs.

S.B. 520 RELATING TO ECOTOURISM                       ECD, WAM
        Creates a private/public matching ecotourism fund to
        improve the trail system in Hawaii and promote
        ecotourism to be administered and funded by the Hawaii
        tourism authority.  Creates an income tax credit for
        contributions made to the ecotourism special fund.

S.B. 816 HCCA EXTENSION                               ECD, WAM
        Extends the Hawaii convention center authority until
        June 30, 2000.

S.B. 1078  RELATING TO ALOHA TOWER DEVELOPMENT          ECD, WAM
        CORPORATION
        Authorizing the ATDC to work creatively with private
        entities to redevelop, as well as more efficiently
        utilize Irwin Memorial Park as a public park and
        parking facility.

S.B. 205 RELATING TO NET ENERGY METERING           ECD, CPN
        Amends Hawaii's net energy metering law.  Increases
        amound of capacity that must be allowed from 0.1% to
        3% of peak demand.  Establishes certain requirements
        for contracts.  Limits charges that may be imposed.
        Provides more detailed requirements for making net
        energy metering calculation.

S.B. 711 RELATING TO NET ENERGY METERING              ECD, CPN
        Allows commercial, industrial, military, and
        government customers of an electric utility to
        participate in net energy metering.  Repeals the
        requirement that an electric utility pay a customer-
        generator for any surplus electrical energy produced
        by the customer-generator.

S.B. 716 RELATING TO THE NATURAL ENERGY LABORATORY    ECD, WAM
        Authorizes the natural energy laboratory to include
        retail and commercial activities within a research and
        technology park.
