HB 1111       RELATING TO YEAR 2000 ERRORS BY                  EDU/CPN, JDC
HD2 SD1       COMPUTER-BASED SYSTEMS
(SB 1320      Creates a dispute resolution process for Year 2000
SD2)          disputes and limits liability for the private sector
           regarding Year 2000 errors. 

HB 936        RELATING TO COMMERCIAL PAPER                         CPN, JDC
HD2           Provides that persons bringing an action to recover damages
           resulting from the dishonor of a check or other negotiable
           instrument may assess and collect a $20 service charge and
           attorney's fees, in addition to the amount of the dishonored
           check, incurred court and service costs. 

HB 1267       RELATING TO FORECLOSURES                             CPN, JDC
HD1 SD1       Makes general amendments to the alternate power of sale
           foreclosure process, including clarifying that public notices
           be mailed and delivered rather than sent; modifying the
           public information requirement for lenders using the new
           process; streamlining the power of sale foreclosure process;
           and repealing current non-judicial foreclosure law as of
           01/01/01.

HB 1073       RELATING TO TELEMARKETING FRAUD                      CPN, JDC
HD1 SD1       Establishes certain telemarketing acts or practices as

SD2)          Requires telephone solicitors to keep records of
           telemarketing activities in the State. 

HB 266        RELATING TO NEW MOTHERS BREASTFEEDING                LRE, JDC
HD2 SD1       PROMOTION AND PROTECTION ACT
(SB 189       Prohibits an employer from penalizing an employee who
SD1)          breastfeeds or expresses milk at the workplace; also
           prohibits discrimination against breastfeeding in public
           accommodations. 

HB 1160       RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT SECURITY APPEALS              LRE, JDC
HD1 SD1       Allows Employment Security Appeals Referee Officer to
(SB 1148)     hold a hearing by telephone. 

 
HB 159        RELATING TO WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION                 LRE, JDC
HD2 SD1       Amends the Whistleblowers' Protection Act by expanding
(SB 235       areas of protected conduct and the types of
SD2)          reportable violations.  Also strengthens the remedies
           available to whistleblowers and increases penalties for
           violators. 

HB 1142       RELATING TO ENVIRONMENT                              LRE, JDC
HD3 SD1       Places certification of cesspool pumping firms with
(SB 1024      the Department of Health.  Makes explicit the
SD2)          Department of Health's authority to deal with recycled water.
           Defines "recycled water".  Clarifies qualifications that
           determine amount of civil penalty for water pollution.
