         DECISION MAKING ON THE FOLLOWING BILLS
          (Deferred from March 19 and 22, 1999)

HB 171     RELATING TO HEALTH CARE DECISIONS                  HHS,JDC
HD2        Adopts a  comprehensive,  modified  uniform health-
           care decisions act  which  would permit a competent
           individual to control decisions  relating to his or
           her own medical care.   Establishes a task force to
           review end-of-life care.


                   (Deferred from March 22, 1999)

HB 1620    RELATING TO HEALTH CARE COMMUNITIES                HHS,WAM
HD1        Authorizes the  Housing  and  Community Development
           Corporation of Hawaii  to  work in partnership with
           private  sector  entities  to  develop  health care
           communities in  the  State.    Establishes a health
           care community  revolving  fund  to  make  loans to
           businesses  for  construction  of  the  health care
           community.

HB 324     RELATING TO DENTAL HYGIENISTS                      HHS,CPN
HD2        Establishes the  educational  requirements  for the
           administration of  intra-oral  block  anesthesia by
           dental  hygienists.      Establishes  documentation
           required  for  dental   board  certification  of  a
           hygienist to administer  anesthesia.  Rules adopted
           by the Board of  Dental  Examiners on the education
           and   certification   of   dental   hygienists   to
           administer   intra-oral   block   anesthesia   will
           supersede this measure.

HB 622     RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE                       HHS,CPN
HD2        Provides health  insurance  coverage of mammograms:
           (1) annually for women  aged  40  and older; or (2)
           earlier if recommended by a physician.

HB 635     RELATING TO HEALTH                                 HHS,WAM
HD2        Issues $15,000,000 in special purpose revenue bonds
           for Hilo Residency  Training  Program, Inc., a not-
           for-profit Hawaii corporation.
