SB 1034    RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOBACCO SETTLEMENT          HHS,WAM
           SPECIAL FUND

           Creates the Hawaii  Tobacco Settlement Special Fund
           to capture 50% of  moneys  allotted to the State of
           Hawaii from the  settlement with tobacco companies;
           provides  that  the   Department   of  Health  will
           administer the  Fund  and  will  use  the moneys to
           promote health and prevent disease where tobacco is
           a risk factor,  promote  healthy lifestyles through
           better nutrition  and  improved  physical activity,
           and promote children's health.
