           PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSES
           Deletes restrictions on  granting advanced practice
           registered nurses  prescriptive  authority; adds to
           authority, prescriptions  for controlled substances
           in schedules II to V.

SB 845        RELATING TO SOCIAL WORKERS                                CPN
           Changes scope of social worker licensing to include
           "bachelor's social worker".
           (CHUN OAKLAND)

SB 365        RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION                           CPN
           Prohibits the  sale  of  laser  pointing devices to
           minors, possession  of  laser  pointing  devices by
           minors, and sale of  laser pointing devices without
           providing  buyer  with  printed  warning  regarding
           dangers of improper usage.     (KANNO)

SB 1582       RELATING TO REVISED UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE               CPN
           ARTICLE 9 -- SECURED TRANSACTIONS
           Adopts revised (1998) version of UCC.  (TANIGUCHI)

SB 776        RELATING TO FINANCIAL SERVICES LOAN COMPANIES             CPN
           Allows depository financial services loan companies
           to hold up to a  quarter of their total reserves in
           securities listed on the NASDAQ.  (TANIGUCHI)

SB 1134       RELATING TO REVERSE MORTGAGES                             CPN
           To  establish  consumer   protections  for  reverse
           mortgagors.  (MIZUGUCHI BR)
