The  following  bills  are  companion  measures  to  Senate bills
previously  heard  by   the   committee.     Identical  testimony
previously heard need not be re-submitted.

HB 1083  RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE      CPN,WAM
HD2     AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS
        Combines most of DCCA special and revolving funds into
        DCCA Compliance Resolution  Fund,  to  be managed at a
        department-wide level  to  fund  DCCA  operations, and
        that  would  not   be   subject  to  central  service,
        administrative   expense   reimbursements,   or  other
        general fund deductions or reversions.(HD2)
        (Companion Bill: SB 1145)

HB 1078  RELATING TO BUSINESS REGISTRATION           CPN,WAM
HD2     Makes  housekeeping  amendments  to  chapters  415 and
        415B,  HRS,  by   clarifying   and  updating  statutes
        governing business  registration.(HD1)(Companion Bill:
        SB 1140)

HB 1079  RELATING TO THE CONVERSION OF BUSINESS      CPN,WAM
HD3     REGISTRATION
        Allows corporations,  partnerships,  Limited Liability
        Partnerships,  and  Limited   Liability  Companies  to
        convert to any other  form of business entity provided
        for under Hawaii law. (HD3) (Companion Bill: SB 1141)

HB 1080  RELATING TO THE NAMES OF CORPORATIONS,      CPN,JDC
HD2     PARTNERSHIPS, AND LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANIES
        Enables corporations,  partnerships, limited liability
        partnerships, and limited  liability companies to seek
        administrative relief against  other entities who have
        registered  or  use  a   name  that  is  substantially
        identical or confusingly similar. (HD2)

       HB 1081  RELATING TO CORPORATIONS.                       CPN
       HD1     Allows  a  shareholder  of  a  corporation  to utilize
                  either  a  written   and   signed,  or  electronically
                  transmitted document  to  authorize  another person to
                  vote shares by proxy. (HD1)(Companion Bill: 1143)
       
       
       
       
       HB 661   RELATING TO ENHANCED WIRELESS EMERGENCY     CPN,WAM
       HD3     911 SERVICE
                  Establishes enhanced 911  services  for mobile phones.

       HB 1073  RELATING TO TELEMARKETING FRAUD             CPN,JDC
       HD1     Specifies and prohibits  telemarketing fraud practices
                  committed by  and  against  Hawaii citizens.(Companion
                  Bill: SB 1135)
       
       HB 756   RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION     CPN,WAM
       HD2     Establishes the universal  service  fund  as a special
                  fund outside of  the  state  treasury to implement the
                  policies and goals of universal service.  Appropriates
                  moneys out of the USF to carry out the purposes of the
                  Universal Service Program. (HD2)
                  (Companion Bill: SB 1279)
       
       HB 1287  RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL PURPOSE  CPN,WAM
       HD1     REVENUE BONDS TO ASSIST THE GAS UTILITY 
                  SERVING THE GENERAL PUBLIC
                  Authorizes SPR bonds  not  to  exceed $19.6 million to
                  assist the gas utility  in  providing gas services and
                  making capital improvements.(Companion Bill: SB 813)
       
       
                  DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.
       
       
       Persons wishing to  testify  should  submit 30 copies (three-hole
       punched) of their  testimony  to  the  committee clerk, Room 414,
       State Capitol, 24 hours prior  to the hearing. Testimony may also
       be faxed if less than 5  pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-
       At-Arms Office  at  586-6659  or  1-800-586-6659  (toll  free for
       neighbor islands), at least 24 hours  prior to the hearing.  When
       faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted,
       the date and time  of  the  hearing,  and  the required number of
       copies needed for submittal.
       
       If you require special  assistance  or auxiliary aids or services
       to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
       interpreter, wheelchair accessibility,  or parking designated for
       the disabled), please contact the  committee clerk 24 hours prior
       to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
