HB1043 HD1 RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUNDLRE/CPN,
        WAM
        Exempts the PEHF Administration from state civil
        service laws.  Specifies that the Administrator's
        salary be within the range established for Department
        Deputy Directors.  Allows the Administrator to become
        a member of the State Employee Retirement System and
        receive benefits from any State or Federal employee
        benefit program.  (SAY B/R)

HB 104 HD1 RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUND  CPN, WAM
        Enables the Employer-Union Trust Concept Committee to
        continue its work to proceed with conversion to an
        employer-union trust concept for administering public
        employee and retiree health benefits.  (YOSHINAGA)

HB1042 HD1 RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUND  CPN, WAM
        Permits Hawaii Public Employees Health Fund board to
        contract for more than one type of benefit plan.  (SAY
        B/R)

HB1044 HD1 RELATING TO HEALTH BENEFITS FOR PART-TIME, TEMPORARY,
        CPN, WAM
        AND SEASONAL OR CASUAL EMPLOYEES
        Provides for employers to offer medical, hospital, and
        surgical plans to part-time, temporary, seasonal, or
        casual employees.  (SAY B/R)

HB1048 HD1 RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUND  CPN, WAM

 
                  Requires State and County retired employees and their
                  spouses to enroll in the federal Medicare Part B
                  Insurance programs.  (SAY B/R)
       
       HB1049 HD1 RELATING TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HEALTH FUND  CPN, WAM
                  Requires employee organizations who participate in the
                  Employee Health Fund benefit plans to return to the
                  Employee Health Fund the approximate employers' share
                  of any rate credit or reimbursement from any carrier
                  or self-insurance plan including any earnings or
                  interest.  Permits the State Comptroller to audit the
                  records of employee organization plans to verify
                  compliance with this requirement.  (SAY B/R)
       
       HB 98 HD1  RELATING TO PENSIONERS' BONUS              CPN, WAM
                  Extends Employees Retirement System pensioners' bonus
                  until 7/1/2001.  (YOSHINAGA)
       
       HB1035 HD1 RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM CPN, WAM
                  Requires the ERS Board of Trustees to appoint a Chief
                  Investment Officer and an Assistant Administrator.
                  Requires the Attorney General to serve as a legal
                  advisor to the board.  (SAY B/R)
       
       HB1036 HD2 RELATING TO INVESTMENTS OF THE ERS         CPN, WAM
                  Allows the Board of the Employees Retirement System to
                  invest in real estate through limited liability
                  companies and similar entities.  (SAY B/R)
       
       
                  DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.
       
       
       Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies (three hole
       punched) of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 202,
       State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also
       be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-
       At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for
       neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When
       faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted,
       the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of
       copies needed for submittal.
       
       If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
       to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
       interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
       the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
       to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
       
       Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
       measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
       shared use by members of the public.
