     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.R. No.
180 entitled: 

     "HOUSE RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF INFORMATION
     PRACTICES TO COORDINATE A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF CURRENT
     PROTECTIONS OF THE PRIVACY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION AND TO
     SUBMIT PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO THE 2000 LEGISLATIVE
     SESSION,"

begs leave to report as follows:

     The purpose of this resolution is to request the Office of
Information Practices (OIP) to coordinate a comprehensive
analysis of current protections of the privacy of personal
information.

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your
Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.R. No. 180,
and recommends its adoption.
