RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL MARKETING.

Establishes a special fund to collect revenues from the Hawaii Seal of Quality program.

Appropriates funds to dredge and install drain inlets, sediment devices, and other modifications in Kaelepulu Pond in Kailua, Oahu.

Appropriates funds to improve the load distribution and carrying capacity of the trail system at Diamond Head state monument.

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR IRRIGATION SYSTEMS AND RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE STATE.

Appropriates funds for repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.  Authorizes general obligation bonds for capital improvement projects for irrigation systems.

RELATING TO THE MOLOKAI IRRIGATION SYSTEM.

Makes Molokai irrigation system water users advisory board a governing board.  Increases number of members of the board.  Allows nomination from Molokai homestead stakeholder organizations.

RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE LOANS.

Increases from $25,000 to $50,000 the chairperson's authority to approve agricultural loans and aquacultural loans.

RELATING TO LIABILITY FOR COQUI FROG ERADICATION EFFORTS.

Provides limited immunity from liability to governmental agencies and to private entities engaged in coqui frog eradication efforts for injuries sustained by volunteers.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 407, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

 

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
