The purpose of this decision making meeting is to insert substantive provisions into the following short form bill.  A public hearing will be scheduled at a later date, at which point testimony will be accepted.

 

SB 561

RELATING TO WATER.

Proposed SD1:  Requires private entities that furnish water used for agricultural purposes in an area zoned for agricultural use to establish a water rate structure for agricultural water use that is comparable to the water rate structure used by the local county board of water supply.

RELATING TO LAND USE.

Proposed SD1:  Establishes a minimum residential lot size in a rural district of one acre.  Establishes a minimum residential lot size in a agricultural district of five acres.

RELATING TO IMPORTANT AGRICULTURAL LANDS.

Proposed SD1:  Exempts owners of real property designated as important agricultural lands from paying real property taxes.  Provides farmer and employee housing on lands designated as important agricultural lands.
