Requires the department of health to establish a labeling program that establishes more stringent standards than the current U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Association of American Plant Food Control Officials standards. Limits imports of fertilizers to those that meet the more stringent standards.

RELATING TO DECABROMODIPHENYLETHER. Prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of televisions, computers, furniture, mattresses, and mattress pads containing commercial decabromodiphenylether after 6/30/10. Requires DOH to report to legislature prior to 2008 regular session.

SB 927 |
RELATING TO RECYCLING. Directs the department of health to adopt rules to establish a cathode ray tube recycling program. Prohibits placing cathode ray tubes in landfills after 1/1/09. Requires reports to the legislature.

Authorizes the department of health to use the surplus in the deposit beverage container deposit special fund, which includes fees from non-redeemed deposit beverage containers, a fixed 1 cent deposit beverage container fee on each deposit beverage container, and accrued interest, to make the deposit beverage container program self-sustaining.

When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
