SB 773

RELATING TO THE HAWAII INGENUITY CORPORATION.

Establishes the Hawaii ingenuity corporation charter, a private, for profit, non-stock, membership corporation.

SB 709

RELATING TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

Requires the department of business, economic development, and tourism to investigate, collect, analyze, and publish research and data to track economic progress and aid in the development and economic health of targeted industries.

SB 1365

RELATING TO THE INNOVATION ECONOMY.

Establishes the Hawaii Innovation Investment Fund, a professionally managed fund of funds, and allows the ERS to invest moderate amounts in Hawaii venture capital.  Supports the operations and programs of a State operated technology incubator and innovation center in Kakaako.  Establishes a local incubator facility for digital media infrastructure for film and TV productions and interactive game development.  Establishes a music industry program at Honolulu Community College (MELE).  Provides funds which allows the UH Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development to enter into a partnership with a private sector entity.
