RELATING TO THE GENERAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT OF 2005.

Clarifies section 3, item K.6. of the General Appropriations Act of 2005, to change the source of funding for economic planning and research from special funds to interdepartmental transfers.

RELATING TO THE CONVENTION CENTER ENTERPRISE SPECIAL FUND.

Repeals the $31,000,000 cap on revenues from the transient accommodations fund deposited into the convention center enterprise special fund.

RELATING TO TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX.

Increases the $31,000,000 cap on the 17.3% in transient accommodations tax (TAT) collections that are designated to the Hawaii Convention Center to $35,000,000.

RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY.

Repeals the sunset of part I of Act 58, SLH 2004, to make permanent HTA's authority to hire an attorney for specialized services, supervise its own accounts, appoint a sports coordinator, and expend 5% of special fund moneys for administration.

RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX.

Exempts the operator of the Hawaii Convention Center from the general excise tax for amounts received for reimbursement of costs or advances made under contract with the Hawaii tourism authority.

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE COMMUNITY WORK DAY PROGRAM.

Makes an appropriation from the tourism special fund for the community work day program.
