RELATING TO GENERIC SUBSTITUTION OF PRESCRIPTION DRUG PRODUCTS.

Makes USFDA approved, therapeutically equivalent generic drug products substitutable upon approval by the Director of Health. (SD1)

RELATING TO THE DENTAL EXAMINATION.

Authorizes acceptance of dental, dental hygienist, and restorative technique examination results from regional or state testing agencies if state constructed exams cannot be administered. Repeals eligibility by graduates of foreign dental schools not accredited by the American Dental Association. (SB2897 HD1)

RELATING TO NURSES.

Clarifies licensure, renewal, and reporting requirements. Repeals obsolete provisions. Requires Board of Nursing to report on findings regarding the Commission on Foreign Nursing Schools and English proficiency examinations and their effect on nurse shortage and licensure. (SB2899 HD1)

RELATING TO TRADITIONAL HAWAIIAN HEALING PRACTICES.

Changes "panel" to "Elders' Council" in relation to regulating traditional native Hawaii healing practices. Makes the Elders' Council independent from the State and authorizes any individual regardless of race or ethnic origin to be certified by the Elders' Council as a traditional native Hawaiian healer. RELATING TO MEDICAL BOARD DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

Expands the choices of disciplinary sanctions the Board of Medical Examiners may impose by adding the sanctions of censure and reprimand.

Clarifies ambiguities and corrects errors and inconsistencies in business registration laws. Allows shareholders to act by less than unanimous consent. Authorizes appointment of trustee for dissolved corporations. Clarifies merger provisions. (SD1)
