The purpose of this informational briefing is to review the status of implementation of a preferred drug list (PDL), for Hawai'i's Medicaid program. Preferred drug lists are one strategy States may use to help control the cost of prescription drugs for Medicaid clients. Representatives from the Departments of Health and Human Services will discuss benefits of having a PDL, authority to create one, the process of developing the PDL, scope, membership and role of the P & T committee, how our process compares to best practices in other states, and the impact of PDL on other states programs
such as Hawai'i's RX.
As this is an information briefing, the Committees will not be receiving public testimony.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
