MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SEX OFFENDER TREATMENT PROGRAM.

Appropriates funds for the Hawaii paroling authority to provide a continuum of care for the sex offender parolee population. (HB1751 HD2)

RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

Changes primary from last Sat. of September to second Sat. in August. Provides for automatic recount for small vote difference if difference for statewide office in votes cast between winning and losing candidate is 1/8 of 1 per cent of the total ballots cast for and 1/4 of 1 per cent for any other state or county office.

RELATING TO CAMPAIGN SPENDING.

Prohibits corporations and labor organizations from making campaign contributions. Forbids any person who enters into a contract with the state or counties to make, or promise to make, campaign contributions to any political party. (HB2844 HD1)
