Speaker of the House Nadine K. Nakamura serves House District 15, which includes the Kaua'i towns of Hanalei, Princeville, Kīlauea, Anahola, Kapa'a, and Wailua. She previously served the Majority Leader, Chair of the House Committee of Legislative Management (LMG), and a member of the Tourism (TOU) and Economic Development Committees (ECD).

A 32-year resident of Kapa'a and former Managing Director for the County of Kaua'i, Speaker Nakamura has deep roots in her community. Mrs. Nakamura operated a planning consulting business for twenty years before being elected to the Kaua'i County Council, where she served from 2010-2013.

Speaker Nakamura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and Urban Planning from the University of Southern California. She obtained a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
