§431:9-220 Process against nonresident licensees. [Section effective until June 30, 2002. For section effective July 1, 2002, see below.] (a) Each licensed nonresident agent or broker shall appoint the commissioner as the agent's or broker's attorney to receive service of legal process issued against the agent or broker in this State upon causes of action arising within this State. Service upon the commissioner as attorney shall constitute effective legal service upon the agent or broker.
(b) The appointment shall be irrevocable for as long as there could be any cause of action against the agent or broker arising out of the agent's or broker's insurance transactions in this State.
(c) Service of process on the commissioner shall be made in accordance with the provisions of section 431:2-206. [L 1987, c 347, pt of §2]

Service upon the commissioner as attorney shall constitute effective legal service upon the producer.
(b) The appointment shall be irrevocable for as long as there could be any cause of action against the producer arising out of the producer's insurance transactions in this State.
