§88-138 Accidental death benefit. The estate or designated beneficiary of a service member who dies by accident, act of war, or other cause, occurring while the service member is not in the service of the State or any county, shall not be entitled to the accidental death benefit provided by section 88-85; however, the estate or the beneficiary shall be entitled to the ordinary death benefit as provided in section 88-137.
