§87-23.5 Determination of long-term care benefits plan; contract with carrier or third-party administrator. (a) The board shall determine the benefits of a long-term care benefits plan for employee-beneficiaries, their spouses or reciprocal beneficiaries, as well as their parents and grandparents, and in-law parents and grandparents, and qualified-beneficiaries. The plan shall comply with article 10H, of chapter 431.
(b) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the benefits shall be available only to employee-beneficiaries, their spouses or reciprocal beneficiaries, as well as their parents and grandparents, and in-law parents and grandparents, and qualified-beneficiaries who enroll between the ages of twenty and eighty-five. Eligible persons must comply with the plan's age, enrollment, medical underwriting, and contribution requirements.
(c) The board may contract with a carrier to provide fully-insured benefits or a third-party administrator to administer self-insured benefits. [L 1991, c 331, pt of §1; am L 1997, c 383, §24; am L 1999, c 93, §4]
