§80-9 Night shift.
Except for employees assigned to shifts of more than eight hours per day on a regular basis, any employee of the State or any county, or independent board or commission thereof, who is required to perform work between the hours of 6:00 in the evening and 6:00 in the morning shall be compensated, in addition to the employee's basic compensation, at the rate of fifteen cents per hour for the hours worked between 6:00 in the evening and 6:00 in the morning.The city and county of Honolulu and the various counties may provide by ordinance for night shift pay for employees assigned to shifts of more than eight hours per day on a regular basis.
