[§76-23.5] Travel and transportation expenses. [Section effective until June 30, 2002. For section effective July 1, 2002, see below.] Appointing authorities, with the prior approval of the director, may pay travel and transportation expenses to enhance the recruitment of persons employed or appointed to positions in a class declared to be in a shortage category and on continuous recruitment. For section effective until June 30, 2002, see above.] Within limits set forth in rules of the director, appointing authorities may pay for all or a portion of the travel and transportation expenses or to provide a monetary incentive to enhance the recruitment of persons employed or appointed to critical-to-fill and labor shortage positions.
