[§314-2] Board; composition; appointment; removal. There is hereby established the board of public broadcasting of eleven members.

All members shall be appointed by the governor as provided in section 26-34. The composition of the board shall reflect the distribution of the state population, with consideration for the varied community needs and interests in public broadcasting; provided that there shall be at least one member from each of the counties of the State. One member of the board may be a representative of the commercial broadcasting industry. In addition to the appointed members the superintendent of education and the president of the University of Hawaii shall serve as ex officio, nonvoting members of the board.

Any member of the board who is absent without cause for two consecutive meetings shall be removed by the governor. [L 1972, c 199, pt of §2]
